Overview
When setting goals and creating action plans to develop our journals, a very common item included in our wishlists is to commission and publish more “high quality research”. But what exactly is high quality research, and how can editors encourage such submissions to their journals?

For our first EASE Member webinar of 2022, Professor Padmanabhan Balaram, Director of the Indian Institute of Science, and currently Editor of the journal Current Science, offers insights and advice from his extensive experience as a researcher and senior editor on several prestigious editorial boards, into the various characteristics of quality research, and what it means for journal development.

This session will be of value to all editorial board and office teams working to improve the content of their titles, considering ideas such as what to look for when assessing articles for inclusion in a journal; how to attract quality submissions; useful tools and techniques for editors, and the effects of featuring more quality research in our journals.
