Freelance Copy-editor

Anne Horscroft

I am an experienced freelance copy-editor specialising in the earth and environmental sciences and chemistry.  I have a BSc (Hons) Geochemistry degree from the University of Reading and received my initial editorial training in-house at the Royal Society of Chemistry in the late 1980s.  I subsequently worked in-house for Taylor & Francis and Butterworth Scientific before becoming freelance in 1990.

As a freelance copy-editor I have worked for all the major STM publishers, including Wiley, Elsevier, Springer, Blackwell Science and the Geological Society Publishing House.  I currently specialise in language editing of journal papers written by authors with non-native English, both pre-submission and after acceptance for publication. I am an Advanced Professional Member of the Society for Editors and Proofreaders.
