Alisdair edits and revises manuscripts, funding applications and PhD dissertations in the: life-sciences, chemistry, medicine, dentistry, neurosciences, agriculture, nutrition and economics disciplines: mainly for Helsinki university.  He also ‘rehabilitates’ texts that have received provisional acceptance upon peer review, but which still require considerable modification.

Other activities include Medical writing, report preparation of clinical study protocols and reports for the pharmaceutical industry and CROs, These are to GCP, ICH guidelines and GPP3 guidance standards. Editing and proof-reading technical and clinical documents including interim and final CSRs Phases III and IV Clinical Studies, Study Monitoring Reports, CRFs, PILs etc.Other activities included teaching science research writing skills and overcoming problems in writing and publishing research papers to neuroscience researchers and PhD students of Moscow, St Petersburg, Nizhny-Novgorod and Rostov-on-Don universities Russia (funded by the EU Tempus program). Alisdair has given similar courses in writing science research papers at Helsinki to Life-sciences graduates and at the College of Life-Sciences, Dundee University, Scotland.He is also a member of the Nordic Editors and Translators organization (NEaT) and currently has responsibility for professional standards and is a deputy-member of the board.
