Writing and Publishing the Scientific Article
Tom Lang Communications and Training InternationalThis workshop teaches how to prepare scientific articles for publication in peer- reviewed journals. The function, content, and organization of each part of the article are examined in detail, and common problems in preparing each part are discussed. Ethical issues of conducting and publishing clinical research—such as authorship, plagiarism, and duplicate publication—are also addressed. Problems in submitting articles, guidelines for authors, and how to respond to reviewers are also described. (This workshop has some overlap with Reporting Randomized Controlled Trials.)
This workshop is based on Chapters 7 and 8 of How to Write, Publish, and Present in the Health Sciences. Additional details in the lecture or an optional pre-workshop assignment add 1.5 hours to the workshop.
