OJS in Open Access Scientific Publishing: Advantages, Challenges and Practical Solutions

Short description: The workshop is intended for journal editors and publishers who want to learn about the capabilities of Open Journal Systems (OJS) software in the context of open access scientific publishing, and especially for those who are still not entirely sure that OJS is the right solution for their journal. The session will be divided into three parts. In the first part, we will explain the advantages of publishing platforms that can support the entire process of editing and publishing and show how OJS ensures better visibility of published content. The second part will discuss practical experiences related to the implementation of OJS and the technical, organizational and psychological challenges that accompany the introduction and use of a complex publishing platform. The third part will discuss work processes in OJS. We will show how OJS can improve the processes of journal editing and publishing and encourage collaboration within the team.
