Writing your research paper: tips from EASE editors

Writing your Research Paper: Tips From EASE Editors was created in collaboration between EASE, American Journal Experts, and Research Square.

It is a revised and reimagined edition of our flagship EASE resource, EASE Guidelines for Authors and Translators of Scientific Articles to be Published in English, aimed at helping scientists worldwide present their research results effectively, and explain how to write complete, concise, and clear manuscripts.

In addition to supporting authors to write high quality articles, the guide also includes advice on choosing the most appropriate journal and improving authors’ success in their research publishing journeys.

Members of EASE Council, experienced academic editors, journal managers, manuscript editors, translators, and copy editors have contributed to this new edition that contains up-to-date information and practical guidance on modern journal publishing, including topics such as:

  • Important factors to consider when choosing journals
  • Identifying predatory journals
  • The manuscript drafting process
  • Creating effective figures, tables and images
  • Insights into pre-prints and open access
  • Advice on research and publishing ethics
  • Details of the manuscript submission processes
  • Tips on writing effective cover letters…
  • …and more!
