Interliber panel discussion on the use of AI in scholarly publishing

Interliber Book Fair is the biggest book fair in Croatia, organised each year in November at the Zagreb Fair. In the last couple of years, University of Zagreb is organising panel discussions with scholarly journal editors on the topics relevant for their work. This year’s panel discussion, organised by the University of Zagreb Faculty of Food Technology and Biotechnology, was focused on the use of AI in scholarly publishing, and whether the AI will replace us in future. Discussion was focused on the possible use of AI tools, their limitations, recommendations on the ethical use of AI (including EASE and COPE recommendations), and retractions in scholarly communication caused by an unethical use of AI tools.
