Editing and translating in biomedical sciences

I am a former biomedical scientist and have been an editor and translator Dutch into English since 2012.

My background is in biomedical sciences and includes a PhD in medical molecular genetics and subsequent postdoctoral research and a degree in chemistry, specializing in biochemistry.

I followed training courses organized by the Chartered Institute of Editing and Proofreading (CIEP) and EASE focusing on copyediting in general and manuscript editing in particular to deepen my knowledge in those aspects of the English language.

I have over 12 years’ experience in translating and editing of teaching materials for higher education degree programmes and research manuscripts.

In addition, I tutor secondary school students in biology, chemistry and mathematics.
