In the seminar, Ph.D. Sabuhi Gahramanov, Chair of the Azerbaijan Regional Chapter and Director of ‘Elm’ Publishing House, provided information about publication ethics, research integrity, ethical violations in scientific publications, standards expected of researchers in creating manuscripts, ethical approaches to authorship, references, acknowledgments and permission.
He explained the obligations of authors, editors, reviewers and publishers in protecting ethical norms. Resources and principles from EASE were discussed and COPE’s standards introduced. From a publisher’s perspective, we highlighted ethical practice for authors and reviewers, the ethical review systems used, and what researchers will need to ensure their manuscripts are developed in an ethical framework.
