EASE India Webinar: Putting People First: The Case for Patient and Public Voices in Clinical Trials

Thursday, 20 November 2025

In this webinar, we explored the findings of a recent study funded by Cancer Research UK and the Department of Biotechnology, India, on patient and public involvement in cancer clinical trials in India.

With an increased number of clinical trials, it is crucial to understand patient preferences, and this presentation demonstrated the benefits of patient and public involvement at every stage of trial design and conduct.

Through in-depth interviews, the study uncovers themes related to awareness about clinical trials, recruitment methodology, the need for explicit patient information materials, and ethical concerns regarding consent and power dynamics.

This session was valuable to wide range of professionals and members of the public, and we welcomed researchers, patients, trialists, journal editors, peer reviewers, publishing partners, and anyone interested individuals.

The publication related to this talk is available for free; Conduct of cancer clinical trials: a qualitative study reporting views of patients, caregivers, public and clinical researchers, published in the open access ecancer journal in July 2025.

This event was free and open to all.
