Final Meeting of the Ukrainian Regional Chapter of EASE – 2024 Highlights & Future Plans

On December 3, 2024, the Ukrainian Regional Chapter of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) held a meeting dedicated to reviewing the year’s achievements and planning for 2025!

2024 was a remarkable year for our chapter, marked by numerous initiatives and collaborations:

• Chapter meetings and discussions on the development of Ukrainian scientific journals and their state support;
• Hosting a webinar on CRediT: The Contributor Role Taxonomy;
• Participation in various events organized by EASE, COPE, PUBMET, and others.

This year EASE Ukraine members proudly won the prestigious competition “Advanced Science in Ukraine”!

We also joined the SUPRR initiative (Support for the Resilience and Recovery of Ukrainian Publishing), collaborating with Electronic Information for Libraries (EIFL) and the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. This involved hosting discussions with publishers from the UK and the US on new open access business models.

Members of EASE Ukraine provided translation and moderation support for Ukrainian-speaking participants. Additionally, we translated and presented the Recommendations on AI Use in Scientific Communication and invited members to contribute to translating the EASE Handbook for Authors of Research Articles.

Today, our chapter boasts 53 active members!
