Meeting of the Ukrainian Regional Chapter of EASE: Key Objectives and Initiatives for 2025

A primary focus was the issue of scientific journals from Ukrainian territories occupied by Russia and the necessary reforms to the National Ranking of Academic Journals. The meeting also featured an announcement of the Ukrainian translation of the “Recommendations for Using AI in Scholarly Communication” and a call for active participation in the translation effort.

The meeting focused significantly on the proposed changes to the procedures for forming the National Ranking of Academic Journals. Prof. Iryna Izarova outlined several initiatives, including the establishment of certification courses for editors and the potential impact of these changes on improving the quality and visibility of Ukrainian academic publishing.
