Heartfelt congratulations to Prof. Iryna Izarova on her appointment as Chair of the EASE Regional Chapter Committee!
We are thrilled to share the wonderful news that Prof. Iryna Izarova, Chair of the Ukrainian Regional Chapter of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), has been appointed to lead the EASE Regional Chapter Committee—a role that recognizes her exceptional dedication to advancing academic publishing and editorial excellence across regions.
Prof. Izarova is a Full Professor in the Department of Justice at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv and a highly respected voice in legal scholarship and scholarly communication. As Editor-in-Chief of Access to Justice in Eastern Europe (AJEE) and a long-standing member of international editorial and research communities, she has made significant contributions to promoting quality, transparency, and integrity in academic publishing.
Her leadership has also been instrumental in supporting national academic-publishing reform in Ukraine through her work with the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine’s working groups on national journal ranking, state support of academic journals and Open Science.
Prof. Izarova also contributed to the revision of the ISSN Manual, championing provisions that keep clear and complete ISSN records for Ukrainian journals published in temporarily occupied territories. Her effort guarantees that these titles are properly identified in ISSN records while safeguarding Ukrainian scholarly heritage.
Since founding EASE Ukraine in 2021, Prof. Izarova has organised numerous webinars, translations, and, in particular, the EASE Editorial School—free of charge for Ukrainian editors.
