Prof. Dr. Iryna Izarova is a Full Professor at the Department of Justice, Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. She also serves as Editor-in-Chief of Access to Justice in Eastern Europe, a peer-reviewed academic journal focusing on legal developments across the region and worldwide.
Prof. Izarova actively contributes to several expert working groups under the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine, including those on state support for academic journals, open peer review, and the development of a national journal ranking system.
In 2021, she co-founded and chaired the Ukrainian Regional Chapter of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE Ukraine) till 2026, advancing editorial professionalism and collaboration among Ukrainian scholarly publishers.
She is a Co-founder of the Ukrainian Diamond Open Access Capacity Centre, an initiative dedicated to supporting and uniting Ukrainian Diamond OA journals and ensuring their integration into the European Research Area.
She is also a co-founding member of the Coordination Center for Scientific Periodicals of the Bulletin of Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv, where she helped develop editorial policies and publishing strategies for university-affiliated journals (2022-2025).
Her professional affiliations include the International Association of Procedural Law, the European Association of Private International Law, and the European Law Institute. She is recognized for her research on access to justice, civil procedure, and legal aspects of scholarly communication.
