Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Jeremy Y. Ng, MSc, PhD, is a health research methodologist with over a decade of experience in conducting research across various domains. With expertise in both quantitative and qualitative research methodologies, Dr. Ng has focused on advancing the rigour and transparency of research practices through the development of reporting guidelines, methodological innovations, and open science practices. His work aims to assess, evaluate, and improve the quality of evidence in health research and improve the overall integrity and impact of studies. Dr. Ng is currently a Scientist at the Institute of General Practice and Interprofessional Care, University Hospital Tübingen & Robert Bosch Center for Integrative Medicine and Health in Stuttgart, Germany, as well as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Health Research Methods, Evidence, and Impact, Faculty of Health Sciences, McMaster University in Hamilton, Canada, and an Associate Professor (Adjunct) at the School of Public Health, Faculty of Health, University of Technology Sydney in Sydney, Australia. He presently serves as the Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Complementary and Integrative Medicine. He has published 100+ peer-reviewed articles in the areas of open science, meta-research, publication science, bibliometrics, research ethics and integrity, and artificial intelligence. Prior to his current role, Dr. Ng was a MITACS-funded Postdoctoral Fellow at the Centre for Journalology at the Ottawa Hospital Research Institute in Ottawa, Canada. He holds a Doctor of Philosophy in Health Research Methodology from McMaster University and a Master of Pharmaceutical Sciences (MSc) from the University of Toronto. His research has been featured in Nature, Scientific American, Discover Magazine, Psychology Today, and PsychCentral, among other prominent media outlets.
