Katarina Botić is a research associate at the Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb, Croatia. In 2017, she received her PhD from the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences of the University of Zagreb in the field of Humanities (Archaeology). The focus of her scientific work is, among other, focused on the adaptation of past societies to environmental change, geoarchaeology and cultural landscapes. She is a member of Croatian Archaeological Society, the European Association of Archaeologists, the Board of Directors of the Coalition for Archaeological Synthesis (CfAS), the Steering Board of the National INQUA Committee and Matica hrvatska.

Her involvement in scientific publishing includes editorial work on the Institute’s collection of papers, but primarily on the journals Annales Instituti Archaeologici (editor-in-chief since 2021; https://hrcak.srce.hr/aia) and Prilozi Instituta za arheologiju u Zagrebu / Contributions of Institute of Archaeology in Zagreb (technical editor since 2020, proof reading since 2008; https://hrcak.srce.hr/en/prilozi-iaz). She is a member of the Croatian Association for Scholarly Communication (CROASC).
