Scholarly Journals Associate
I am currently a Scholarly Journals Associate at Medicinska naklada, a medical scholarly publisher based in Zagreb, Croatia, where I work in a range of roles across the company’s journal portfolio. I also provide English-language editing and proofreading for scholarly medical journals through Svijet spoznaja (World of Insights), a private company I founded in 2025.
I was born in 1986 in Zagreb, Croatia, into a trilingual Croatian–English–Italian family. I completed my secondary education in Zagreb (at the 5th and 15th Gymnasiums) and at William Ellis School in London, UK. In 2009, I earned a BA from the Faculty of Political Science at the University of Zagreb, followed in 2010 by an MPhil in Development Studies from the University of Cambridge, UK, for which I was awarded a full OSI–FCO Chevening Scholarship.
My professional specialisation is in academic publishing, with a particular focus on scholarly journals. From 2013 to 2017, I worked primarily as an Editorial Assistant at the Institute for Development and International Relations in Zagreb, while also contributing to other research and publishing projects of the Institute. In 2022 and 2023, I served at Libertas International University in Zagreb as Coordinator in the Office for Research and Publishing, collaborating with Editors-in-Chief and overseeing the University’s three scholarly journals. In 2023, I completed a one-year scholarly publishing fellowship with the US-based Society for Scholarly Publishing (SSP), and I continue to expand my knowledge of journal publishing through professional webinars and related learning opportunities.
