Dr. Marta Colomer obtained her Biology degree and master’s degree in Advanced Microbiology from the University of Barcelona (Spain). She holds a PhD in Environmental Microbiology and Biotechnology from the same university, followed by two post-docs at Texas Tech University (USA) and the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Centre (Spain), respectively. She joined MDPI in 2020 where she currently works as a Public Affairs Specialist. She is responsible for managing MDPI’s public affairs, and advocacy initiatives across Europe building relationships with key stakeholders in the academic, media, and governmental sectors to support open access publishing.
