Assist.Prof.
Mustafa Karabulut was born on October 23, 1994, in Aksaray, Türkiye. He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Audiology from Hacettepe University, Ankara in 2016. Between 2016 and 2019, Karabulut completed his Master of Science in Audiology at Hacettepe University, Ankara, Türkiye. During this period, he developed a particular interest in vestibular diagnostics and balance disorders. In 2017, he was awarded a national scholarship by the Turkish Ministry of National Education to pursue graduate-level academic training abroad. From 2017 to 2019, he also worked as a research assistant at Ankara Yıldırım Beyazıt University, Ankara, Türkiye. As part of the scholarship program, after resigning from this position, he received six months of English language education at Kent State University in Ohio, United States of America in 2019. Motivated by his growing academic interest in vestibular sciences, Karabulut began his PhD in 2020 at Maastricht University Medical Center (MUMC+), Maastricht, Netherlands. His doctoral research focused on chronic unilateral vestibular hypofunction, investigating its symptomatology, etiologies, clinical subtypes, diagnostic challenges, and impact on quality of life. During his PhD, he actively contributed to research, teaching, and student mentoring and presented his work at numerous national and international scientific conferences. Karabulut’s academic journey reflects a sustained commitment to vestibular science and a broader aim of improving clinical understanding and care for patients with balance disorders. He is currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Audiology at Çukurova University, Türkiye.
