I joined The Lancet Group in 2017 as a Senior Editor at The Lancet Oncology. I then moved to The Lancet Haematology as Deputy Editor in 2019, and served as acting Editor-in-Chief between March 2021–April 2022. I received a PhD in Cancer Biology and Oncology from Cancer Research UK, The Francis Crick Institute/University College London (UK) in 2015. I also completed a master’s degree in Neuroscience and Behavioural Biology and a bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology at Universidad Pablo de Olavide (Seville, Spain). After completing my research, I began a career in academic publishing as an Assistant Editor at The BMC Series (Springer Nature) and gained clinical editorial experience as an Assistant Editor at BMJ Open (The BMJ).
