English is the lingua franca of academic publishing. But for most people living in the Nordic countries, English is their second language. This makes the relationship between English and Nordic languages very interesting. How do they influence each other? Has the Nordic language culture changed because of this relationship? Are we witnessing in the current era a sense of ownership of English, and does this in some ways link to new forms of nationalism?
