The European Association of Science Editors (EASE) is an international community of individuals and associations from diverse backgrounds, linguistic traditions and professional experiences in science communication and editing.

Bulgarian Regional Chapter

About

The Bulgarian Chapter of EASE was established in 2015 at New Bulgarian University in Sofia, Bulgaria.

 Aims and Objectives

The aims and objectives of the Bulgarian chapter of EASE are:

  • To raise awareness of the profession of science editing in Bulgaria and facilitate interaction among science editors within Bulgaria
  • To create a database of Bulgarian science editors
  • To promote awareness of EASE and use of its publications and tools (ESE journal, Guidelines and Editors’ Handbook) in Bulgaria
  • Promote the Bulgarian version of the EASE Guidelines for Authors and Translators  of Scientific Articles and the COPE Guidelines
  • To work on the advancement of the international standards of scholarly writing and publishing, e.g. to promote the EASE Science Editors’ Handbook within Bulgaria, Southeast Europe and Russia
  • Organize events and training seminars for editors, peer reviewers and authors

Biography: Boris Naimushin is an Associate Professor of Translation and Interpreting in the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures, New Bulgarian University. He has a Master of Advanced Studies in Interpreter Training from the University of Geneva and a PhD in Bulgarian Linguistics and Translation from the St Kliment Ohridski University of Sofia, Bulgaria. Boris Naimushin is an active conference interpreter. Since 2009, he has worked as interpreter for the Presidency of Bulgaria. He is the Editor in Chief of English Studies at NBU (ESNBU, www.esnbu.org).

Stanislav  Bogdanov holds  a  PhD  in  Educational  Technology  in  FLT.  He is  a Chief  Assistant  Professor in the Department of Foreign Languages and Cultures, New Bulgarian University. His main research interests lie in Educational technology, Pedagogical Usability, Language localisation and Translation, Applied Linguistics and Foreign Language Teaching Methodology, Teacher education and development. Stan is the Managing Editor of English Studies at NBU (ESNBU, www.esnbu.org).
