Session 7

Intercepting Misconduct – Practical Tips for Editors

Thursday, 15 May 2025, 4.45pm-5.30pm

Tools for detecting research misconduct are continually coming to market, usually as add-ons to submission systems and usually at a cost. These tools can be most helpful, but are often expensive so that, especially in small journals, intercepting misconduct still relies on their skilled editors. This session brought together experts who tackle research misconduct in both seasoned and innovative ways. They shared real-life experiences and practical tips which editors can implement almost immediately to intercept misconduct in their day-to-day work, at no or very little cost. Knowledge about these ’hands-on tools’ will benefit those who use the latest technical help as well.
