EASE India Webinar: Ethical challenges in maintaining research integrity in the age of GenAI

Thursday, 23 July 2026 at 12.30pm-1.30pm UK time, 5pm-6pm India time

This talk will explore the broad ethical challenges associated with the increasing use of Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) across various stages of the research cycle. As GenAI tools become more integrated into everyday tasks, concerns have emerged regarding transparency, bias, reliability of outputs, and potential misuse. Issues such as inaccuracy of information, copyright infringement, stereotypical biases, and concerns to data privacy further complicate their responsible use. The rapidly evolving nature of GenAI necessitates continuous scrutiny and critical engagement. Addressing these challenges requires not only the development of clear guidelines and ethical frameworks but also discussions with the diverse stakeholder community to ensure the responsible, accountable, and trustworthy use of GenAI.
