The role of scientific journals in the promotion of Open Access to research data

The accessibility of the research data is slowly but steadily becoming a practice in scientific communication. European Commission is setting high standards for publicly funded research, asking scientists not only to publish research findings, but also to share the research data on which these outputs are based on. Scientific journals have a crucial role in scientific communication and research dissemination, so the editors need to be aware of the standards and recommendations for sharing research data.
