This workshop was free and open to all.
As the conference season approaches, we offered this open workshop to support anyone interested in learning more about the art of scientific poster design and presentation. If you are considering submitting a poster to an event this year, this is the perfect workshop for you and if you’ve never considered submitting a poster, this workshop will help you get started.
The workshop focuses on the following key areas:
Clarity and precision of content
– The poster’s scientific storyline. From research question/hypothesis/aim and objectives to take-home messages and the general conclusion of the study, including other key aspects such as background, methods, results, and possible limitations, as well as bibliographic references, acknowledgements, including funders and supplemental information.
Design
– The Readers’ and Viewers’ perspectives.
– Selection of take-home messages and supporting your findings
– Layout, conciseness of content, use of headings, figures, tables and illustrations
– Typography, colour and other design choices.
Video presentation
– Script writing
– Visual creation
– Tips for filming.
This workshop was timed to be held ahead of the call for abstracts for the 2025 EASE Poster Exhibition and Competition, which will be held at the 18th EASE General Assembly and Conference in Oslo, Norway from 14-16 May 2025.
As well as research posters, we are also inviting posters of a more general nature, perhaps describing implementation of a new editorial office workflow, or steps you have taken to increase diversity amongst your editorial board. See the full details.
