Dr. Vladimir Trajkovski is a full professor in Human Genetics, Medical Aspects of Disability, Physiology and Functional Anatomy, Autism Spectrum Disorders at the Institute of Special Education and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Philosophy at the University “St. Cyril and Methodius” in Skopje, Macedonia. He is the president and one of the founders of the Macedonian Scientific Association for Autism (MSSA) (www.mssa.org.mk). For 25 years his preoccupation has been the autism spectrum disorder. From 2008-2017 he was the editor-in-chief of the Journal of Special Education and Rehabilitation, since April 2018 until June 2022 he had been the editor-in-chief of the international Journal for ReAttach Therapy and Developmental Diversity. Since August 2022 he established and he is editor-in-chief of Journal of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (https://jhrs.almamater.si) which publisher is Alma Mater Europaea University-ECM, Slovenia. In 2004 he introduced the subject “Autism” to the postgraduate studies at the Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje. Erasmus coordinator at Faculty of Philosophy was in the period 2009-2013.

He participates in more than 130 seminars, congresses, symposia and conferences in the country and abroad. In the last 4 pandemic years, he organizes and teaches at about 45 webinars and web conferences organized by the MSSA. Actively participates in the preparation and implementation of 22 professional-scientific national and international projects. He has made study visits to nine European countries. He is the author of 10 textbooks, practicums and monographs, around 115 papers in domestic and foreign periodicals, 20 of which are in journals with an impact factor, and 76 abstracts on international conferences.

He was visitng professor at the South Western University “Neofit Rilski” in Blagoevgrad, Bulgaria.

Since March 2020 he is a visiting professor at the Alma Mater Europaea University – ECM in Slovenia. He teaches there “Social inclusion of person with autism spectrum disorders” and “Therapeutical Approaches II” on postgraduate studies and takes a part in their conferences “It’s All About People” and in all activities regarding autism field.

In last ten years, he continuously work in the frame of Macedonian Association of Medical Editors (MAME) on education young researchers and scientists in Macedonia. He organizes and teaches at three workshops: “Ethics in Scientific Writing and Publishing in Biomedicine and Related Fields”, prepared several “Open Access Week” and “Peer Reviewer Week”.

Since November 2022 he is a vice chair of CUPID COST project (https://cupidproject.eu/). Dean of the Faculty of Philosphy in Skopje appointed him as faculty coordinator for indexing journals and academic publishing in November 2022. In May 2023 became general secretary of Macedonian Assoaciation of Medical Editors.

Other academic activities are: member of European Academy of Science and Arts (December 2023), member of the Macedonian Society for Human Genetics, a member of the editorial boards of 5 international journals, and also contributes to the work of various bodies of international associations and societies (Autism Europe, European Association of Services for People with Disabilities, International Association of Scientific Studies for Intellectual Disabilities) that treat autism, intellectual disability and disability.

He is winner of the award for the best scientist at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje in the field of biomedical and health sciences for 2017, and thanksgiving from Faculty of Philosophy in Skopje as coordinator for indexing journals in December 2023.
