Session 1: Scientific publishing: Quality, ethics and integrity – what does good science publishing look like?

To open the EASE Conference on Quality Scientific Publishing, Cem Uzun introduced Joan Marsh who reflected on what we mean by good quality in this context. She considered the actual content of scientific publications, the process by which such content is managed from manuscript submission to publication, and how such quality is judged by the scientific community, setting the stage for the ensuing conference sessions.

Cem has served on EASE Council since 2018, as Vice President for 2021-2023 and now as President for 2023-25. He initiated and chaired the EASE Turkish Regional Chapter until February 2022, now chairs the Regional Chapter Programme Committee and sits on the Editorial Advisory Board of European Science Editing.
