Session 2: What does quality mean for publishers, editors and authors and are we aligned?

Friday, 2 June 2023 – 9.00am-10.15am (Turkish time)

In this panel discussion we explored the concept of “quality” from the viewpoint of different editorial stakeholders. We answered questions such as: what makes a quality submission; what publishers can do to reduce the barriers to submission whilst also ensuring high quality of submissions; how to identify quality within a sea of quantity; how DEIA considerations within editorial policies and processes can improve the quality of submissions; how do readers perceive quality; plus many more! The panellists represented the viewpoints of authors, editors and publishers.
