Saturday 3 June 2023 – 2.00pm-3.00pm (Turkish time)

This session will provide an overview of the quality metrics requirements for indexing from the bibliographical databases as well as the publishers’ perspective. It will cover the Journal Citation Reports evaluation criteria highlighting the most relevant changes for 2023, providing useful insights into the main challenges editors face in developing high-quality journals and generate debate on whether criteria harmonization is possible among different databases. In addition, this session will provide a case-example on the main steps a new journal must take from its inception until it becomes indexed in a database, considering how to meet the databases’ standards.
