Welcome to our newest Regional Chapter for those in the Nordic countries

We are pleased to announce the formation of an EASE Regional Chapter for those members in the Nordic countries of Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden.

Many of those working in editorial roles on scientific journals in this region often feel isolated, with relatively little reach or influence. Even the larger players recognise their need to develop their teams and widen their horizons and knowledge base, especially in topics like manuscript handling systems, peer review and journal editorial policies.

To support these needs, the new Chapter will provide a mechanism for those in each of the four countries to collaborate on a regional basis. It will provide a strong platform from which individuals and teams can develop their skills and knowledge, promote their value and increase their representation internationally.

What are the aims and objectives of the Chapter?

The Chapter seeks to bring together individuals and organisations interested in developing and improving scientific communication and publishing in the region by:

  • providing training and professional development in scientific editorial practice
  • taking advantage of the skills and expertise in the EASE Council and special interest committees to support regional activities
  • improving communication and dissemination of scientific output
  • Improving the visibility and reach of Nordic scientific journals internationally and supporting them to meet international standards and be indexed in international databases
  • exchanging ideas and knowledge related to scientific publishing
  • providing networking opportunities to learn from each other and share experiences.
