Mind the Gap – Understanding China’s Perspective on Research Integrity and Open Access

In the past 20 years China has become the world’s top producer of research papers. Recently, the STM/CUJS China Symposium took place on October 16th, ahead of the STM Annual Conference in Frankfurt. This article summarizes the discussions about China’s increasing concern over APCs and over Gold OA, providing an interesting insight into how China views open access, research integrity, and the responsibilities of authors, editors, and publishers.
