I am honored to have been nominated for the EASE Council elections, and to having been co-opted to EASE Council in January 2023. As such, I am part of the leadership team of the recently established Nordic Regional Chapter.

My background is from clinical medicine, research and academic publishing. I am a neurologist by training, hold a PhD in neurology/neurosurgery from the University of Oslo and worked until 2015 as a consultant neurologist at the Norwegian National Hospital. My organizational experience is from diverse academic organizations. From 2004 to 2014, I served at the board of the Norwegian Neurological Association, from 2010 to 2014 as its President. From 2009, I have worked part time as an editor, and from 2015 full time as Editor in chief at The Journal of the Norwegian Medical Association. Our journal has a staff of 24 full time employees, it is indexed in Pubmed, Google Scholar, Crossref and ESCI, and is listed in DOAJ. We publish primarily digitally, the website receiving slightly more than 10 million visitors per year. We publish 18 paper issues yearly, circulating 32 000 copies per issue.

In addition to my main position as an Editor in chief, I hold a position as Associate Professor at The Norwegian Academy of Music. As an author, I have published and edited several books and book chapters.

It would be an honor to serve at the council as an ordinary member. I bring with me almost 15 years of experience of working in and running a medium large scientific journal, as well as academic competence, organizational experience and extensive experience from communicating and disseminating science. Hopefully, I could contribute to the council’s work by supporting one or more of the special interest committees and by develop further initiatives to attract new members. I feel strong commitment to the values, mission and objectives of EASE, and I hope to be able to contribute to the further development and growth of the EASE organization.
