[email protected]

I’ve been a member of EASE for over nine years. Currently, I am a member of the EASE Council and Peer Review Committee. My research interests include advancements in scholarly communication and innovating publishing practices, respecting the principles of Open Science, and caring about ethical concerns in scholarly publishing. I am also active in the activities of the EASE Croatian Regional Chapter and the Croatian Association of Scholarly Communication, primarily supporting and providing training for editors of 500+ Croatian Open Access journals.

As all my professional work is related to scholarly communication, I can continue committing to the EASE mission and new initiatives. The EASE community is a strongly motivating and friendly environment for exchanging opinions, ideas and practices. With my expertise in the Open Science infrastructure, digital archives and repositories, interoperability among different information systems, and advancements in scholarly publishing, I believe I can contribute to various EASE activities. Furthermore, my good insight into the Croatian scholarly publishing community can contribute to the more inclusive engagement of the EASE journal editors. Additionally, as a librarian, I understand the importance of cooperation between institutional publishers and libraries.

With a team of open science enthusiasts, I am organising the annual PUBMET conference on scholarly communication in the context of open science. Since 2014, the PUBMET has been a significant venue for gathering editors, publishers, librarians, journalists, policymakers, scholars and practitioners investigating and advancing scholarly communication in open science. The tenth PUBMET2023 conference will be held at the University of Zadar from the 14th to the 15th. September 2023, continuing a series of very successful conferences organised by the University of Zadar, the Croatian Association for Scientific Communication – ZNAK, the University of Zagreb, the University of Rijeka and the Ruđer Bošković Institute, under the auspices of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), OPERAS consortium, OpenAIRE, and SPARC Europe.

I am willing to serve as a member of the EASE Council in the next period and to increase and enrich the activities of the EASE regional chapters. Furthermore, I will actively participate in EASE publishing activities, meetings, webinars, and training workshops. Because of my intensive collaboration with different stakeholders: libraries, editors and publishers, researchers/authors, students, funders and policymakers in Croatia, I would continue to bring different perspectives and approaches.
