On 29, September 2023, participants from EASE Ukraine gathered from both Vienna and Kyiv for productive discussions and the exchange of valuable experiences on several topics, including:
– discussions on new journal registration requirements in Ukraine
– EASE Ukraine initiatives promoting neutrality and non-discrimination
– presentations on the SUES (Remy Ienco) and SUPRR (Frances Pinter) Initiatives, fostering support for Ukrainian publishing amid challenging circumstances
– the new EASE forum for members (discussion in Ukrainian!).
The EASE Ukraine Forum opened with a new discussion topic, focusing on “Neutrality and Non-Discrimination in Editors’ Work.” This discussion aimed to delve into the critical aspects of maintaining editorial neutrality and ensuring non-discrimination within the editorial process, particularly in light of recent challenges faced by Ukrainian Editors.
