Panel discussion at PUBMET2020 – The 7th Conference on Scholarly Communication and Publishing in the Context of Open Science about the role of publishers/journals in the small scholarly communities. The role of the scholarly journals at the national level was discussed, with a particular focus on the work with young scientists, Plan S requirements for the journals and changes in government policies, especially in the support of Open Access.
