The European Association of Science Editors (EASE) is an international community of individuals and associations from diverse backgrounds, linguistic traditions and professional experiences in science communication and editing.

Mexican Regional Chapter of EASE

The Mexican chapter of the European Association of Science Editors (EASE) was established in late 2013, thanks to the vision and leadership of Dr María del Carmen Ruiz Alcocer (Director of the LiveMed Institute) and other active members of the Mexican Association of Biomedical Journal Editors (Asociación Mexicana de Editores de Revistas Biomédicas A.C; AMERBAC), who currently work in various public and private institutions in the areas of health, higher education, the information industry and publishing.

Its aim is to promote collaboration between EASE members and organize training for publishers and authors in Mexico in the light of AMERBAC’s overall objective, namely:

  • To promote the publication of Mexican biomedical journals that meet international quality criteria.

This new forum will promote partnerships in the field of publishing and the dissemination of information about Mexican biomedical journals. We will also encourage ties between members of other EASE associations.

Chapter Coordinator: Mtra. Angelica Dávalos-Alcázar (President AMERBAC)

The Mexican Chapter (Dr María del Carmen Ruiz Alcocer) is regularly translating into Spanish the Abstracts of the articles published in the European Science Editing and is also translating into Spanish the EASE Handbook.
