After he received his D.Phil in Molecular Biology from the University of York in the UK some 15 years ago, David decided to trade life as a scientist for a life in publishing. His introduction to scholarly publishing came via Vitek Tracz at Current Science Group and then BioMed Central. He joined CABI in 2001 taking various roles, culminating in a role as Head of Innovations. This involved him and his small team acting in a combined 'skunkworks'/business analysis/internal consultancy/troubleshooting/product development role. In 2013 he joined The IET as their Head of Product Solutions interfacing between the two worlds of Publishing and IT. When not involved in Scholarly Publishing, he likes to indulge in astronomy, tinkering with things, and restoring a 1960 1600 MGA that currently resides in his garage.
