EASE School for Manuscript Editors and Academic Authors – Week 2

Wednesday, 8 April 2026, 10am – 1pm (UK time)

This four-session online training course has been designed to help authors of research papers and other technical documents (researchers, academics and technical writers) to make their manuscripts more acceptable to journal editors and therefore less likely to be desk rejected. A well prepared manuscript will proceed more smoothly through peer review and post-acceptance processes. This course is also designed to support copy editors and other professionals who help authors to prepare their manuscripts.

The 12-hour course is held once a week spread over four weeks, with two topics covered each week over 3 hours.

Week 2

• Organising numerical data into reader-friendly tables
• Preparing impactful charts, graphs and other illustrations, with guest speaker Luka Ursić.

The training will be led by 2023-35 EASE Council member, Yateendra Joshi and two guest speakers. This course is particularly suitable for early-career researchers and manuscript editors but can benefit all those involved in writing and editing scientific documents irrespective of the level of experience and expertise.
