European Science Editing

Our diamond open access peer-reviewed journal publishes original research, review and commentary on all aspects of scientific, scholarly editing and publishing. We aim to provide a source of peer-reviewed information on all aspects of scholarly editing to help editors improve the quality and integrity of scholarly publications. Articles are published in flow and we do not charge APC’s.

The Journal is indexed in Scopus, DOAJ, SJR Scimago amongst others. An application to Web of Science is currently being assessed.

I am the Editor-in-Chief and I am supported by a small team of volunteer editors and an International Editorial Advisory Board.

A bit about me…

I am associate professor of public health (medical informatics) at Rijeka University, Croatia. My academic background lies both in social sciences and biomedicine. I received my master’s degree in psychology (2002) and PhD in social medicine (2012). I teach medical informatics, statistics and scientific methodology. My investigation for the PhD thesis ‘The Value of Plagiarism Detection Procedure in a Biomedical Journal’ was focused on the detection of similar texts with web-services CrossCheck and eTBLAST in the Croatian Medical Journal (www.cmj.hr) during 2009-2010, and the development of standard operating procedure for detecting and dealing with plagiarism in biomedical journals.

I became Research Integrity Editor at the Croatian Medical Journal (http://www.cmj.hr) in 2012 and Editor-in-Chief of European Science Editing, the official journal of the European Association of Science Editors in 2016. My current research activities include open science.
