Ela Tarakcı graduated from Istanbul University, Department of Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation in 1999 and received her specialization from the same university in 2002. She completed her doctorate in Occupational Therapy at Hacettepe University in 2008. Continuing her academic studies in the field of Pediatric and Rheumatologic Rehabilitation, Tarakcı became Associate Professor in 2014 and Professor in 2020. She is still working as a faculty member at Istanbul University-Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Health Sciences. Tarakcı was deemed worthy of the “Outstanding Young Scientist” award from the Turkish Academy of Sciences in 2018 and the “Innovative Health Professional of the Year” award in 2020.
