D-r Jovan Jonovski, MTh, was born in Skopje in 1971 where he completed his education by graduating in Physics at the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in 2010.

He studies theology in Budapest, London, and Novi Sad, Serbia where he defended his master’s thesis in 2008, on the Baptists in Macedonia.

He became a master of History in 2014 at the Institute of National History in Skopje with the thesis: Evangelical Protestant Churches in Macedonia.

In 2018 defends Doctorate in Humanities at the Institute of National History in Skopje with the thesis “The Sun and the Lion as Symbols in the Heraldry and Vexillology of Macedonia”.

Jonovski is fulfilling several functions:

  • President and Chief Herald of the Macedonian Heraldic Society,
  • Associated member of the International Academy of Heraldry,
  • Member of the International Commission on Order of Chivalry,
  • Member of the Commission for orders and medals of the President of the Republic of Macedonia (2009-2019).
  • President and Herald of the Macedonian Heraldry Society during its entire existence (2003-2018).
