Luca De Fiore (Rome, 1958) is the managing director of Il Pensiero Scientifico Editore, an Italian scientific publishing company. He serves as the Editor-in-chief of the monthly academic journal Recenti Progressi in Medicina, indexed on Medline, Scopus, Embase, and acts as a reviewer for the BMJ on the following topics: conflicts of interest, fraud and misconduct in scientific communication. He is co-author of the book Conflitti di interesse in medicina (Conflicts of interest in healthcare) (Il Mulino, 2018). From 2012 to 2018 he has been serving as president of the Alessandro Liberati Association – Italian Cochrane Network, an international network of researchers working on the production of systematic reviews of scientific literature (www.associali.it) . He has no consulting positions – neither paid nor voluntary – with pharmaceutical or food industries, medical devices, vaccine manufacturers, insurance companies or banking institutions.
