I am a former lawyer and journalist turned publishing professional. I currently work as a commissioning editor for Springer Nature. I acquire civil and environmental engineering and earth sciences books across the Indian region.

I have previously worked as a freelance journalist and was later promoted to the position of a the subeditor of a regional newspaper. In this role, I copyedited and ensured the inverted pyramid structure for news articles in highly stressful and time-sensitive environments.

I have also worked as a freelance content curator and copyeditor for a technology magazine.

I started my journey at Springer Nature started as a member of the transfer desk team. I later moved laterally to the role of commissioning editor for human-machine collaboration books and now I have been promoted to the role of assistant editor and I manage the civil engineering and allied books portfolio in the engineering and applied sciences books team.

I also have a passion for other creative arts like theatre, storytelling and creative writing. I have a nerdy love for all things science and technology.

In my free time, I love to learn something new. I also devour books of all genres and often binge watch sci-fi shows.

I also have a passion for editing dialogue and hence I study communication in the written, visual and digital media as a hobby to better understand the power of dialogue in all its forms and develop skills to edit it to perfection.
