Victoria Ivashchenko is the Head of the Terminology Commission under International Committee оf Slavonic Scholars, Deputy Director for Scientific Work оf Institute of Journalism of Borys Grinchenko Kyiv University, Doctor of Sciences in Phіlology, Senior Researcher, Professor of the Department of Publishing. She was the chair of the Scientific Terminology Department at the Ukrainian Language Institute at the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine in 2010–2016.

She is the founder and editor-in-chief of the international peer-reviewed electronic scientific publication Bulletin of the Terminology Commission under ICSS (since 2017), member of the international board of the journal Prilozy (Department of Linguistics and Literary Studies of the Macedonian Academy of Sciences and Arts) and the Scientific Board of the International Terminological and Anthropolinguistic Centre (ITAC) at the Higher School of Linguistics in Warsaw; reviewer of foreign scientific publications; member of the editorial board of the professional publication of Ukraine (Language, Integrated communications).

Ivashchenko carries on the following expert activity in Ukraine: member of the expert group EG-01 for evaluating the effectiveness of scientific institutions in the scientific field of socio-humanitarian sciences; member of the Technical Committee for Standardization of Ukraine TC 144 Information and Documentation. During 2010–2016 she was the chairman of the Scientific and Methodic Committee in the Ukrainian Language at the Scientific and Methodic Council of Education at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine. In 2013–2015 she became the member of Dictionary Council at the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine.

Ivashchenko has over 150 scientific publications.
