I am a bilingual Brit (Finnish & English), born in the UK, but have lived in Finland since 1995.

I am an English language editor and translator, and have been self-employed (company name Altexta) since the beginning of 2017. Previous to this, I worked as the in-house English Language Editor at the Finnish Institute of Occupational Health (FIOH), a research institute, for 11 years, where my main task was editing the language of scientific/academic articles written by Finnish researchers before their submission for publication in international journals.

My main area of specialization is occupational health and safety, which covers many branches of both the social and natural sciences.
My main clients are academics and researchers from Finnish universities and medical institutes.

Altexta also offers FI–EN translation services.

I have a BA (Hons) in modern languages from the University of Bradford.
