Introducing a brand-new course on the SAGER Guidelines

We are delighted to announce a new course on the SAGER Guidelines which has been developed in a partnership of Elsevier Researcher Academy, EASE and GENDRO. The course has been specifically designed to give those who have not yet implemented the SAGER Guidelines in their research or journal – or who feel they would like additional training in this area – the information and recommendations to make research output more inclusive and rigorous.

Delivered via directed self-learning in the form of webinars, you can tackle the course in your own time. Our comprehensive course is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills to implement the SAGER Guidelines in your research and publishing. By taking the SAGER course, you will learn about sex and gender reporting and how to implement these guidelines in preparing your research proposal and eventually your manuscript as an author, and in the editorial and peer review evaluation as a reviewer and editor. You will learn about the distinction between sex and gender, the development of the SAGER Guidelines, and their implementation in various disciplines and organizations. Additionally, we will walk you through the SAGER Guidelines structure, recommendations per section of the article, and the author/editor checklist.

By the end of the course, you will have a deeper understanding of the importance of sex and gender in research and be able to incorporate these considerations into your work.
