Madeleine McMullen
Editor manager, at European and Mediterranean Plant Protection Organisation (EPPO)
EASE is delighted to announce the appointment of Madeleine McMullen as news editor starting in February. Madeleine takes over from Fiona Murphy who recently stood down as editor.
Madeleine is Managing Editor of the EPPO Bulletin in France where she has worked for the last 16 years . She also works in Diagnostics and serves as Staff Representative there.
Madeleine studied Biology followed by a MSc in Environmental Technology (Health Option) both at Imperial College, London. She worked at IC Consultants as a project manager and editor, then moved to France and worked for 3 years as a medical writer in the field of oncology. Whilst this was a fascinating job it was not ideal for her work-life balance, so following the arrival of her second child she moved to EPPO in Paris initially as a part-time Assistant Editor.
Madeleine has been a EASE member for more than 10 years. She has been a regular participant at our conferences, attending in 2016 and 2018 in-person and subsequently attending online at our conferences in 2020, 22 and 23. She has participated in two Editorial courses with EASE and so is well versed in what EASE has to offer. We look forward to working with her.
