The 2026 Summer Symposium will be on the theme Influence & Impact – innovations in how editorial teams set standards, demonstrate quality, and measure the reception of published research.
Join us for The Quality of AI Peer Review Reports - a satelitte event to the Summer Symposium, that examines how AI-generated and AI-assisted peer review is influencing scholarly publishing and preprinting. We’ll explore the strengths and limitations of AI in producing reproducible and constructive reviews and hear from those that have implemented AI peer review in their workflows.
Come and join us for an relaxed social night via the Zoom Platform. Are Brean, EASE Vice President, will host a short quiz to test your knowledge in the scholarly communication space and then a ‘Quick Fire’ round where we will test how familiar you are with all things EASE by asking you to retrieve information from the EASE website. This will be a race to see who gets to the answer first. All good fun!
This session will examine how editorial leadership, journal policies, and peer-review practices can actively support SDG progress by encouraging global participation, equitable authorship, interdisciplinary research, strengthening transparency and data integrity, and integrating SDG-related practices into editorial workflows and policies.
Join us for this session from EASE Sister Society, ISMTE, looking at how different communities are harnessing their constituents and new innovations to strengthen standards in peer review.
Join Committee Member, Shelly Pranic, look back over five years of activity in the DEI Committee, from our first needs survey, our various webinars on DEI topics, our Awareness Raising Slide Deck, the SDG Checklist and our SAGER@10 celebrations.
This session brings together global perspectives to move beyond the theory of “going global” and focus on the specific levers editorial teams can pull to earn trust in new markets.
This session will focus on where editors add value in the AI landscape and why it matters. It will include sections on evaluating AI-generated content, handling sensitive author communication in the AI era, accessibility as an editorial skill (the role manuscript editors play in generating or vetting alt text and simplifying or providing peer reviewer feedback), and editing beyond text (graphical abstracts and visual accuracy).
Join our June get-together, with three of our Summer Symposium session moderators, Iva Grabarić Andonovski, Phill Jones and Jo Wixon, looking at the key take aways from this event. We will also have the latest EASE news and time to hear your questions in our ‘Ask Me Anything’ discussion. Enjoy your chance to meet up with your EASE friends and colleagues.
