This workshop focuses on the essentials of building a strategic development plan for journals, enriched with practical insights of tactics to employ to achieve various strategic objectives common to many journals from a series of case studies and scenarios.

A wide range of ethical issues can arise in academic publishing. These can be caused by those who participate in scholarly publishing (for example, as authors, reviewers, editors and publishers), and by some of the pressures and practices that prevail in the research system. This course will cover how to detect and deal effectively with poor practice and misconduct in scholarly publishing and will highlight the importance of having effective publication ethics policies in place.
